Blog Post # 11: Romantic Couples

A romantic couple that I looked at is Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind. In this book/movie, I think it portrays that it's easier for rich/successful and beautiful people to attract others, and get a loved one. Along as well as playing hard to get which is what Scarlett did a lot of. But what happened to their love story was that they didn't really last. Rhett ended up leaving her, but the reason why he left her was because she didn't continue to show interest in him, and was swooning over another guy. So if she would've been more loyal and interested than their relationship probably would've lasted longer.
I think Scarlett had the idea of fake love in her head, maybe not exactly as it is today, which is assuming love should be like those on tv, but she had the dream that Ashley Wilkes would fall in love with her, and they would be a perfect couple, but he married someone else. And she dreamed that the life with him would be perfect. In the connection to lavish weddings, Scarlett was able to have not only 1 wedding, but 3 weddings over the course of her life, and each one was very elegant since she did marry 3 different successful men throughout her life.
